How can we meaningfully incorporate Biophilic Design into the built environment so that we create beautiful space that supports flourishing?
Biophilic Design is a practice that is increasingly used and requested in built environment projects. But what is it, why should we use it, and what does good biophilic design look like in the Oceania context? How might we think about it along side concepts like Country-Centred Design, Nature-Positive and Neuroarchitecture. This Master class covers the Living Building Challenge (LBC) Beauty Petals. Our three live workshops will cover the Petal requirements—including how to run a Biophilic exploration workshop, explore local case studies, hear from guest speakers and apply the learnings from design through to operations.
Learning Level
This course is appropriate for anyone wanting to know more about Biophilic Design. A basic understanding of Biophilic Design theory is recommended and would provide additional valuable context.
Learning outcomes
- Explore the foundations and impacts of Biophilic Design.
- Apply the framework to theoretical examples
- Reflect on the influence of scale and typology
- Explore and evaluate local case studies
